FUSION OF ORIGAMI AND ARCHITECTURE

The AIA (Australian Institute of Architects 2008) and WAF (World Architecture Festival 2009) prize awarded Klein Bottle House reminds more of origami art than traditional architecture. Strikingly interesting shapes have been created by disposing of conventional orthogonal rules and embracing mathematical formulas instead. It’s an example of what added creative freedom CAD technology offers architects today.

The house is located in Australia and has been created by local architects McBride Charles Ryan.

Of course the house provokes controversy and questions like: Is it beautiful? Will it become extremely dated quickly? Would you like to live in this house? Is it functional? Is it wasteful?
